The summer isn’t over yet! Check out these family fun activities and events happening around the North Bay.

Marin County

  • Summer Concert Series | Thursday, August 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, 2026

    Enjoy live music every Thursday at the Marin Art and Garden Center. Drinks and snacks available for purchase, check out the kid zone, and you are welcome to picnic on the grounds before or after the music. A golf cart shuttle will assist guests up the hill from the main parking lot. General admission tickets are $23.18, and reserved parking is $12.81.

  • West End Fridays Block Party - Friday, August 15th and 27th, 2026

    Fridays from August through mid-October, the vibrant stretch from F to G Streets transforms into a lively celebration from 6 pm to 9 pm. Enjoy eight unforgettable Fridays filled with music and community spirit. This party is free for all ages!

  • Beach Volleyball Bonanza - Sunday, August 23, 2026

    Head to beautiful Upton Beach to learn the basics of beach volleyball. You’ll practice fundamental skills and then play an actual game! Friendly dogs welcome on leash. Check the calendar or text/call (415) 209-8999 two hours before the event to confirm the status. Registration is encouraged through their website.

  • Tea Party at the Zoo - Sunday, August 23rd, 2026

    Join the San Francisco Aid for Animals for a paw-some Tea Party with tail-wagging excitement, whisker-twitching antics and an afternoon full of laughter and fun! Experience delicious treats and beverages, recreational games and activities for kids, amazing items up for auction, and most importantly: celebrate a worthy cause!   • 5th Annual Rock the Gates Summer Fleadh - Saturday, August 29, 2026

    With an impressive line-up of sound and entertainment, this family-friendly music festival has something for everyone! This festival will showcase a variety of bands from tribute bands, Irish favorites, and also feature Irish Dancing from some of our local dance schools. Face painting and bounce house for kids during the afternoon hours. Kids 18 and under get in free, and adult tickets are $33.85 when purchased in advance.

  • 53rd Annual Gravenstein Apple Fair | Saturday - Sunday, August 8th - 9th, 2026

    Enjoy all things apple, the best local food and drink, top regional music, ag-inspired fun for all ages, Artisan Tasting Grove, VIP Lounge, and much more! Tickets are good for either Saturday or Sunday admission, with many options, so make sure to check their website. *The cost of tickets go up the weekend of*. On-site parking is limited for $10/vehicle, with free parking at their satellite parking lots and free shuttles running all day.

  • Broadway Under The Stars: Mamma Mia! - August 13-16, 20-23, 27-30, 2026

    The global smash hit is coming to Sonoma for the very first time! With its large cast, explosive dance numbers, nonstop humor, and irresistible score, Mamma Mia! promises to give you an unforgettable experience. Ticket prices range depending on seat selection, so make sure to check out their options when you book your tickets.

  • Summer Sunset Hike at White Rock - Saturday, July 4th, 2026

    Join Sonoma Land Trust for a free evening hike at White Rock, a small but iconic preserve featuring oak woodlands, open grasslands, and “White Rock,” a prominent face of silica carbonate deposited by the same geological forces that drive the geysers. The hike is about 4 miles with an elevation gain of 400′. From the peak, you’ll enjoy a sublime view of the setting sun over Alexander Valley.

  • Movies at the Green: Goat | Saturday - Saturday, Aug 8, 2026

    Pack a picnic and watch your favorite movie outside on the big screen on Weill Lawn. There’s a food truck on-site, SSU students and kids 12 and under are FREE, and tickets for adults are only $6.
